About Modhaka – Handcrafted Textiles Rooted in Indian Tradition
Modhaka is a curated destination for handcrafted Indian textiles, handloom sarees, and artisan-made products that celebrate the richness of traditional crafts.

We bring together timeless techniques like Kalamkari, Ajrakh, Ikkat, and Sanganeri handblock printing, connecting you directly to India’s diverse textile heritage. Every piece reflects slow craftsmanship, cultural depth, and thoughtful design.
At Modhaka, we go beyond selling—we help you understand what you’re buying.
What We Do – Curating Authentic Handloom & Handcrafted Products
We curate sustainable, handcrafted clothing and textiles that are:
- Made using traditional Indian techniques
- Designed for everyday wear and long-term use
- Produced in small, mindful batches
- Rooted in slow fashion and conscious living
Our collection includes handloom sarees, handblock printed fabrics, naturally dyed textiles, and handcrafted home furnishings—each chosen for its authenticity and usability.
How We Source – Directly from Artisans & Craft Clusters
At Modhaka, sourcing is intentional.
We work closely with artisan communities, weavers, and craft clusters across India, ensuring that every product stays true to its origin.
Our sourcing approach focuses on:
- Supporting traditional craftsmanship and rural livelihoods
- Choosing handmade over mass-produced textiles
- Prioritizing natural fabrics and responsible processes
- Building long-term relationships with artisans
This allows us to offer authentic handmade products online while preserving the integrity of each craft.

Quality & Material Checks – Thoughtful, Not Industrial
We believe handmade products should be both beautiful and reliable.
Each piece at Modhaka is carefully reviewed for:
- Fabric quality, comfort, and durability
- Color strength, dye behavior, and wash performance
- Finishing details and overall usability
- Longevity with regular use
Instead of factory-standard perfection, we value well-crafted, high-quality handmade textiles that improve with time.
Our Philosophy – Not Selling, But Guiding
Unlike typical online stores, Modhaka is built on customer-first, honest guidance.
We don’t push products or create urgency. Instead, we:
- Help you understand fabrics, weaves, and prints
- Recommend what suits your needs, lifestyle, and budget
- Encourage mindful purchases—even if that means not buying
Our goal is to help you make informed decisions when buying handcrafted products online.
Founder’s Note – Keerthi Polepalle
Modhaka was founded by Keerthi Polepalle, who chose to step away from a high-paying corporate career to build something more meaningful and rooted.
With a background in technology, product management, and business, she found herself drawn back to India’s traditional crafts and the stories behind them. What began as a personal interest slowly evolved into Modhaka—a space where craftsmanship is respected, and consumption is more conscious.
Her journey doesn’t stop at textiles.
Keerthi is also working on developing natural, eco-friendly detergents, with the intent of reducing chemical impact on fabrics, skin, and most importantly, the soil. In a world increasingly saturated with synthetic chemicals, this is a step towards restoring balance—both in what we wear and how we care for it.
Modhaka, at its core, reflects this larger philosophy:
to live, choose, and build more mindfully.
